India's hand and power tools industry is entering an important phase of opportunity, supported by expanding manufacturing capabilities, growing industrial demand and increasing global interest in diversified supply chains.

According to the NITI Aayog and Foundation for Economic Development report (April 2025):

• The global hand and power tools trade market was estimated at approximately US$100 billion in 2022, with a projected value of US$190 billion by 2035.
• The global power tools market alone was estimated at US$63 billion, with a projection of US$134 billion by 2035.
• India has an identified export opportunity exceeding US$25 billion across hand and power tools by 2035.
• India's power tools exports were estimated at approximately US$425 million, representing around 0.7% of the global market.

The opportunity extends beyond exports. India's machine-tool industry recorded estimated consumption of ₹31,781 crore in FY 2024–25, against domestic production of ₹14,566 crore and imports of ₹18,686 crore, according to the IMTMA Annual Report 2024–25.
